Blackberry Plant 'Thornfree'

Blackberry Plant 'Thornfree'

  • Thornless canes
  • Large juicy fruits
  • Can be trained against a trellis

Blackberry ‘Thornfree’ produces an excellent crop of top-quality big black fruits in late summer and early autumn, on completely thorn-free canes that make harvesting easy. The canes can be trained against a wall or trellis.

Plant in a sunny site, in soil that has had plenty of organic matter (compost or well-rotted farmyard manure) dug in to improve soil structure. Train canes against a wall, tying them back to horizontal support wires spaced 45cm (1/5ft) apart, or up a trellis. Cut back fruited canes to ground level in late autumn.
