Penstemon Seeds 'Barbatus Mix '

Unwins Penstemon Barbatus Mix Seeds produce colourful spikes of summer flowers in purples, pinks and whites.

A popular hardy perennial for sunny garden borders in a mix of colours that will keep flowering for many weeks and return in subsequent years.

  • An RHS pollinator favourite
  • Great for pots and containers
  • Ideal in sunny beds and borders

Sowing Indoors
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Place in the warmth, 15-20°C and keep moist.

Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost.

Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 45cm between plants.

Aftercare
Deadhead after flowering. In winter, cut back to ground level.
